Youth Confirmation

Growing together.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.

Confirmation is a two-year course of instruction designed for 7th and 8th graders but in some situations, it may include students outside that range due to unforeseen circumstances.
Students study the Old and New Testament of the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism and Lutheran Living to help them grow in faith and learn how to develop their own personal relationship with Christ. Instruction begin in the fall with one-hour classes on Wednesday evenings. Arrangements can be made for students who are unable to attend at this time. Contact Pastor Cheryl if you have difficulty in scheduling.
During the two-year rotation of study, students attend worship and complete worship notes. This is to help them learn how to listen to a sermon, participate in service, and understand the pattern of worship.
During the year, students will also complete services projects to learn about Christ command to love your neighbor and care for those who are most vulnerable.
Over the two-year program, student are expected to become familiar with the small catechism and Bible verses through memory work.
Affirmation of Baptism is generally held in April after Easter.
